Nikka Coffey Grain is a Japanese grain whisky made from a high-corn mash bill (also including wheat and unmalted barley). Though grain whisky has long had a bad reputation, this is a beautifully complex and unconventional whisky with notes of vanilla, caramel, and spice. Grain whisky is commonly used in blended Japanese (and Scotch) whiskies, but it has become more popular as a standalone spirit in recent years.
